In support of the University's dedication to sustainability, Human Resources Office organised the “SDGs@HRO” Day to raise our staff’s awareness on United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event drew over 300 participants.
With the theme “Supporting SDGs at Work,” the event aimed to promote the SDGs across three dimensions —Environment, Society, and Economy, while fostering more meaningful workplace connections on our campus. Various display boards and games were set up according to these dimensions and five keywords starting with the letter “P,” helping colleagues become familiar with the 17 UN’s SDGs.
In collaboration with local social enterprises, activity booths were arranged to promote equity, diversity and inclusion. These featured a Henna Handprint Workshop run by the Cultural Playground operated by ethnic minorities, Deaf Cafeteria, a sign language cafe managed by the hearing impaired, and Braille Card Printing by Barrier Free Access (HK) which facilitates a barrier-free environment.
In presenting the University's initiatives, besides the Human Resources Office showcasing sustainable employment measures, the Estates Office also participated by introducing the campus’s eco-friendly initiatives including green corner and green catering measures such as lunchbox lending programme.
We set up a wooden message board inviting colleagues to pledge their support for the SDGs and commit to taking necessary actions.
As part of our initiative to further enhance colleagues’ awareness of the SDGs, souvenirs were distributed to participants.
