In 2015, the United Nations (UN) set up 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aim to call for actions by every sector in the world to achieve a better and more sustainable future, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy health, justice and prosperity.
These global goals are integrated and indivisible, and balance the three dimensions of sustainable development: the economic, social and environmental.

The 17 SDGs can be catergorised into Environment, Social and Economy. These three dimensions are not standalone, they are interconnected and influence each other.
The Stockholm Resilience Centre presented the “SDGs Wedding Cake” shows the Environment as the foundation of the SDGs, which in turn supports Economy and Society, emphasising the need for strong global partnerships and cooperation.
Apart from 3 Dimensions concept, SDGs can also be categorized into the 5Ps to better assess the 17 goals.
