Research Assistant (PR0290/21-22)

The appointees will assist the Principal Investigator in the RGC funded project, “Understanding Political Disinformation with Facebook Audience Insights and Eye-tracking Technology”. Duties include: (a) assist in literature review; b) collect and analyse data (content analysis and eye-tracking experiments); and (c) provide administrative support to the project.

Applicants should have/be:

  • a bachelor’s degree, preferably a master’s degree in Journalism or Communication Studies. Academic qualification in Computer Science, Psychology, or other related disciplines may also be considered; 
  • knowledge of and experience in data analysis using R, or Python, or SPSS;
  • a good command of spoken and written English and be able to communicate in Cantonese; and
  • hard working, responsible, fast learning and detail oriented.  

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of three to six months. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
