Assistant Technical Officer (PR0287/21-22)

The appointee is expected to

  • provide technical support to the Language Centre and HKBU Putonghua Training and Testing Centre;
  • manage and maintain departmental websites;
  • maintain online registration systems for courses/services;
  • provide technical support for multimedia teaching materials development;
  • design and update posters for events and courses;
  • design graphics for promotional materials;
  • provide support on LMS (Moodle);
  • provide internal training to staff; and
  • perform other duties as assigned by the supervisors and the Head of the Language Centre.

Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Web Technology or Computing or a relevant subject with at least one year of relevant post-qualification experience. Expertise in using office software applications (such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace), hybrid teaching (such as Zoom and MS Teams), SQL database management, programming (such as JavaScript ES 6 and PHP 8), web apps (such as Ionic 6 with Angular), learning management systems (such as Moodle), classroom management systems (such as XClass) and graphic design skills (such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator) is essential.  A good command of Chinese, English and Putonghua is required.

Initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of one to two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Reference Salary Range:  $21,000 to $34,000

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
